Originating in Dorset, England in the 1600s, these beautiful hand-stitched buttons were once made by entire families and sold throughout Europe before becoming a beloved needlework art form.
In this 3-hour class, you’ll learn how to create a classic Cart Wheel Dorset Button, the foundation for endless creative variations and embellishments. Dorset Buttons can be used on clothing, ornaments, jewelry, needlework finishes, keychains, and more. Tiny, portable, and wildly addictive, this is the perfect take-anywhere craft!
All supplies are included, even a pretty rose-patterned clasp wallet to hold your goodies. Just bring small scissors, a beverage, and a thimble if you prefer using one.
Joy has spent decades immersed in all things needle-y, from quilting and embroidery to knitting, crochet, and cross stitch. Expect a little history, lots of creativity, and plenty of stitching fun!
